1) What equipment do I need for the show?
A sound system with a wireless handheld mic, 3.5mm audio input (like a headphone jack for music), adequate lighting, and 15-20 extra chairs onstage. Nothing a typical event wouldn't have already. We will always arrive early to check the performance area and ensure you get the best experience possible.
2) How long is the show?
Every show is tailored to the needs of your program. The most common shows are 60-minutes or 90-minutes, but we have also done shows as short as 40 to 45-minutes for tight schedules. You can let us know what your preference is.
3) What is hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a heightened state of suggestibility created by deep relaxation and intense focus. Someone who is hypnotized will be less critical and analytical, but more imaginative and impulsive. This allows a hypnotized person to do anything from believe they are a celebrity, to convincing themselves they are confident during a speech, to exercising more often.
4) Is hypnosis real?
Yes, but it is misunderstood. It’s psychology, not mind control or magic like in movies. Our show will never use actors, plants, or stooges. No one is ever told to “play along.” Our show guarantees the real deal.
5) Can I be hypnotized against my will?
No. The only way to be hypnotized is if you want to be hypnotized. All hypnosis is self-hypnosis and if you try to resist you will succeed. The hypnotized person is always in control the entire time. We will never hypnotize someone that doesn’t want to volunteer. If you think no one will volunteer, this show may not be for your event. If you know you have a lot of fun personalities in the audience waiting to be unleashed, this will be the show of a lifetime.
6) Can I be hypnotized to do things I don't want to do?
No. Your unconscious mind has a fail safe that prevents you from doing anything against your morals. If you were hypnotized and told to rob a bank, you'd snap out of hypnosis. Equally, no one can make you reveal any secrets you don't want to reveal. A hypnotized person is relaxed, but always in control. Our show will never humiliate volunteers. Volunteers always leave feeling refreshed and enjoy the experience of hypnosis.
7) Is it true that you have to be dumb to be hypnotized?
No, just the opposite. People with above average intelligence are statistically more likely to be hypnotized quickly and deeply than those with lower intelligence. The ability to concentrate is vital for hypnosis. Intelligent people tend to be able to concentrate well.
